【摘要】:Itisknownthatsolarradiationcontributestothedegradationofsealantsinexteriorbuildingjoints.Theuseofalaboratoryacceleratedweatheringmachinewithactinicradiation,moistureandheatappearstobeafeasiblemeanstogiveindicationsofearlydegradationbytheappearanceofsealantcracking.However,simulatedweatherfactorsincombinationwithextensionmayproducemoreseveredegradationthanweatherfactorsonly.Therefore,theeffectoftheweatheringtestismademoresensitivebytheadditionofthebendingofthespecimenatcoldtemperature.1.1Thistestmethodcoversalaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtheeffectsofacceleratedweatheringoncured-in-placeelastomericjointsealants(single-andmulticomponent)foruseinbuildingconstruction.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3ThecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherASTMcommitteesorotherorganizations.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
