【摘要】:p>Therapidmethodisperformedtoquicklyevaluatepercentcompactionandvariationfromoptimummoisturecontentofsoilsusedinconstructionwithoutknowingthevalueoffieldmoisturecontentatthetimeofthetest.Testresultsareusuallydeterminedwithin1to2hfromthestartofthetest.Thevalueofpercentcompactionobtainedusingtherapidmethodwillbethesameasthepercentcompactioncalculatedusingdrydensityvalues.Thevalueofthedifferencebetweenfieldmoisturecontentandoptimummoisturecontentwillbeapproximate,butwillbewithinx00B1;0.1to0.2percentagepointofthedifferencecalculatedoncethefieldmoisturecontentisknown.TestresultsmaybeusedtodetermineifthecompactedmaterialmeetsdensityandmoisturecontrolvaluesthatarespecifiedasapercentageofastandardmaximumdensityandoptimummoisturecontentsuchasdeterminedinMethodAofTestMethodsD698.Athree-pointcompactioncurveisusedinplaceofthefour-orfive-pointcurverequiredinTestMethodsD698.Thistestmethodisbasedontheassumptionthatathree-pointcompactioncurveisaparabolaatthesectionofthecurveclosetooptimummoisturecontentsothatthepeakpointofthecurvecanbedeterminedmathematically.Thisassumptionresultsinthemajordifferencebetweenthistestmethodandobtainingthemaximumdensityandoptimummoisturecontentfromafullfive-pointcompactioncurve.Oncethefieldovendrymoisturecontenthasbeendetermined,thevaluesofdrydensity,dryunitweight,andoptimummoisturecontentcanbecalculated(seeNote1).Thistestmethodcanalsobeusedforfoundationorborrowareamaterialtocomparein-placedrydensityandunitweightandmoisturecontenttolaboratorymaximumdrydensityandunitweightandoptimummoisturecontent.Thistestmethodhastheadvantagethatthemaximumdensityvaluecanbeobtainedonthesamesoilexcavatedduringthein-placedensitytest.Note18212;Sincethereisnoneedtoimmediatelydeterminethemoisturecontentsofmaterialfromthein-placedensitytestorthelaboratorycompactionpoints,useofrapidmoisturecontentdeterminationssuchasmicrowave,directheat,nuclear,etc.,isnotneeded.However,ifdesired,thepercentcompactionandvariationfromoptimummoisturecontentmaybedeterminedusingdrydensityvaluesbasedonrapidmoisturecontenttestmethods.Usingthreecompactionpointsanddeterminingthemaximumdensitymathematicallywouldstillapply.However,therapidmoisturecontentmethodsmaygiveresultsthatdifferfromtheacceptedoven-driedmoisturecontentvaluesandwilllengthenthetimeofperformingthistestmethod.Note28212;Notwithstandingthestatementsonprecisionandbiascontainedinthistestmethod,theprecisionofthistestmethodisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingitandthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting.UsersofthesetestmethodsarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfensurereliableresults.Reliabletestingdependsonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethoddescribestheprocedureforrapidlydeterminingthepercentcompactionandthevariationfromoptimummoisturecontentofanin-placesoilforuseincontrollingconstructionofcompactedearth.Thesevaluesareobtainedbydevelopingathree-pointcompactioncurveatthesamemoisturecontentasthein-p......
